US Mint results = +/- 40% drop in sales

If YOU don't got IT (the good stuff like real gold) you can't sell it. :ok:

Right, TUNGSTEN TIM? :111:

Caught with their hands in the US Dollar C@@KIE jar.

Is that Mint Results, or Mint Creates?

Either way is fine really, I'm just feeling a bit sticky in this after lunch...I guess.

Only a government operation could simultaneously enjoy record high revenues and still see a decline of 40% in net profits.

Geitner says "I'm fully responsible" and "the American people should be outraged" practically in the same breath. This guy is almost as haughty and arrogant as Obongo. Where's Madame LaFarge when we need her most?:favorites21::favorites21::favorites21:

"The decline was driven by the shift in volume from higher margin circulating coins and numismatic products to lower margin bullion coins."

Makes sense. They're not making as much because now they're selling mostly low margin bullion.

The point in the original post was that with the highest price in GOLD EVER they can't produce from their 281 MILLION ounces - cause
TINY TIM is stuck with what he's REALLY got.

Re: US Mint results = +/- 40% drop in sales

"The United States Mint Director Edmund Moy cited the severity and rapidity of the recession as a factor in the year's results, affecting all three segments of their operations."

Yeah Ed, this has nothing to do with you clowns dropping your most popular numismatics (Gold and Silver Eagle Proofs), as well as the "W" mint uncirculateds that were still finding a market in the short two years they were around (summer '06 to summer '08), not to mention the on-again, off-again production of bullion products. Oh, and your adherence to supporting loser numismatics like the Presidential HAGS series. Take your lumps like a man, Ed, you deserve every one, and then some.

Suggestions considered, what do you think? I've collected all of the PF69 SAEs, except the 1995-W (right now anyway) and somehow wound up with a 2008-W ER PF70 & a 2008-W PF69 (which is in my collection). Should I sell the 2008-W ER PF70 or keep it since it looks like 2008 was the last year of the proofs. Come on you Numismatic type peoples, speak up. NGC has it listed at $111.25 right now, think it will go up since 2008 is the last year for proofs? :hissyfit_m:
